See, if you could see...

In this recent time and age, there are still left a dwindling very few remnants of individuals who are capable of sensing the times and seasons. They are as the Acacia trees who close their leaves when it's dark and open their leaves when there's enough light, and who shed their leaves in due season.

They know about the emergence of a big summer moon in this new unfolding season and they are triggered anxiously, both positively and negatively, about its workings in the times and sub-seasons ahead.

As they have anticipated, initially, the ground shook last Monday. This shaking made them open their leaves and plead: "We have already felt the ground's movement, O Lord God Almighty, now please let us see also Your lightning!"

Early morning today, it rained for some time and it stopped. Then in the afternoon, it rained again for a short time, and as the rain was about to stop, there was sent three bursts of quiet lightning from above.

To those very few who still has the ears to hear and the eyes to see, be steadfast; for the season of the shedding of leaves wiil soon be over. Behold, your branches have now started to sprout new fresh leaves!

Sa mata ng mga bata, ang maling gawa ay nagiging tama kapag ito ay ginagawa ng mga mas nakakatanda.

Kayâ kung tatawid tayo sa kalsada, dapat ay tumawid lamang sa itinalagang tawiran, at huwag sa kung saan-saang banda ng kalsada.

At kung maglagay tayo ng campaign related posters o materials, dapat ilagay lamang ang mga ito sa itinalaga ng Comelec na common poster area, at huwag sa mga poste ng kuryente, mga pader, at lalo ng huwag sa Plaza Rizal. At huwag sumobra ang laki ng poster sa laki na isinasaad ng Comelec.

Sa mga supporters na naglagay ng mga posters na ganito sa maling lugar, huwag naman sana nating bigyan ng kahihiyan ang ating mga minamahal na mga kandidato. Kumakandidato pa nga lang sila, e masama na ang halimbawang nakikita ng publiko.

Mas maganda tingnan ang ating mga munting bayan kapag sa mga sangkaterbang political posters hindi ito dinudungisan.

          

Victory in persecution

Another feather on her hat. Another badge of honor on her veteran journalistic chest.

Maria Ressa, they may go after you and persecute you for being true to your journalistic calling, but you are certainly winning the struggle for press freedom in our country with flying colors by showing courage in the midst of a seeming narcissistic dictatorial leadership who can't stand being criticised and corrected unsolicited.

When will they ever learn that persecuting critics in an attempt to silence them is a futile self-defeating effort?

If one is truly innocent, accusations and criticisms won't hold water. The best way to deal with accusations and criticisms is to let them be while you shine the light of truth; for only those who are truly guilty are affected by accusations and criticisms.

To some people, what is happening to Maria Ressa may appear as a big blow to press freedom, but it is instead a victory in persecution. A feather on the hat of courageous journalism. A badge of honor on the chest of journalistic calling.

Any true freedom has a real precious price to be paid. What Maria Ressa has shown is exactly what a true-to-the-calling journalist should be and ought to do. Tremble if you must, but nevertheless stand courageous and pay the price that must be paid.

To those true-to-the-calling journalists, the kind of administration that our country has recently is a best opportunity for you to be polished by persecution and shine like diamonds as what is happening to Maria Ressa and those other persecuted political critics.

So, how about the rest who call themselves journalists, when will your light shine? Are you merely content with your title? When will you prove worthy of your true calling? When will you polish your hidden valuable courage that it may shine amidst today's many forms of persecution?

Can't you still see that now is a great opportunity to shine and be counted as among those who are genuinely true to their calling?!

Onward called out ones, for these days are your opportuned moments to shine! Don't settle on your dregs; the Lord God is shaking you! Polish your valuable courage with the rough sands of today's persecutions.

These days are days of great shaking!
