This is an excessive-self-confidence's serious but frustrated attempt at expressing spiritual understanding while yet in a level of spiritual babyhood.
While trying hard to pretend as a self-taught genius, the statement he was expressing exposes more his usual foolish arrogant side which may be as a result of his spiritual infancy.
Pride and intellectualism are effective baits to catch the egos of poor souls like him. And like many other not-so-humble poor souls trying to know and understand the Creator of the universe in their own ways, hostile reactions or condemnations are responses that are not spiritually helpful. Christians who are living their lives according to their faith know what the right options to take that would be helpful in dealing with this issue.
